(Victor Valley)– You can eat a corn dog, watch a horse race, and renew your vehicle registration at this year’s California State Fair. The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) information booth will feature the DMV Now Self-Service Terminal (SST), which allows fairgoers to use touchscreen technology to renew their vehicle registration or file for planned non-operation status on their vehicle.
“By placing a DMV Now Self-Service Terminal at the California State Fair, customers will find out how quick and easy it is to instantly get their registration renewal card and license plate tags,” said Director Jean Shiomoto.
To conduct a transaction, customers will need their vehicle registration renewal notice or their most recent vehicle registration card. Instructions are available in English and Spanish, and the kiosk accepts cash, credit cards, debit cards and checks.
DMV staff will be available to demonstrate the SST features and answer DMV related questions at the DMV Information Booth in Building C throughout the entire run of the California State Fair at Cal Expo, 1600 Exposition Blvd, Sacramento. The fair runs July 14 – July 30.
The department recently added DMV Now SSTs to 12 Southern California retail locations as well as one at the University of California, Irvine. The terminals are also available in 60 DMV field offices throughout the state. To find one near you, visit https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/fo/fo_sst.
Since the first DMV Now SST was installed in October 2010, more than 6.1 million vehicle registration renewal transactions have been completed using these convenient kiosks.
