(Apple Valley)– In a department responsible for providing a full spectrum of recreation activities, outstanding customer service is not only demanded, but vital to build trust for the entire community that is served. The Town of Apple Valley has named Tashina Miniszewski as its newest Employee of the Quarter for carrying out these responsibilities.
Miniszewski, the department’s Senior Office Assistant, assists with the daily flow of customers who come in to register for classes, reserve town facilities or inquire about any of the town’s many programs. She is also responsible for designing the department’s tri-annual Recreation Guide of classes and activities that all Apple Valley households receive about three times a year.
“The best part of my job, and also the most important, is customer service,” said Miniszewski. “I truly enjoy giving the best service possible to the public as well as my coworkers and it is a blessing to be a part of the Recreation team.”
In addition to her office duties, Miniszewski assists at department events such as the Reverse Triathlon, Dive-In Movies at the Aquatic Center and the upcoming November 18 Turkey Run.
“Her ability to adapt to the many changing programs and events is a huge benefit to our department’s customer service and the success of our many programs,” said her supervisor, Parks & Recreation Manager Ralph Wright. “She is the department’s conduit to the residents we serve, consistently providing all essential information they need.”
Miniszewski, who has worked for the Town of Apple Valley for more than 10 years, started out as a part time Recreation Leader. She was promoted to her current position in November 2016.
Miniszewski was honored at the November 14 Town Council meeting. Nominations for Employee of the Quarter are submitted by peers or management and honorees are selected by a committee.
