Victorville City Library To Close Temporarily For Renovations

(Victorville) – The Victorville City Library will close for approximately two weeks starting Dec. 1 for renovations to include new carpeting, paint and shelving. The Library will open and return to normal operating hours on Dec. 18.

The Victorville City Library was awarded a $46,028 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the renovation projects, which are part of the library department’s broader improvement plans to create an intellectually active learning environment.

“We are excited to be moving forward with this renovation project. Environments that make students of all ages feel good to be there increase learning and academic progress by as much as 25 percent”, said Karen Everrett, City Librarian.

A program of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, CDBG grants are awarded to local units of government for infrastructure and public building projects. The program is designed to enhance the vitality of a community through public investment.

The Victorville City Library is located at 15011 Circle Dr. Normal hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on all services offered by the Victorville City Library, call (760) 245-4222.
