(Victorville)– Just three weeks following its announcement to recruit a Fire Chief, the City of Victorville today announced openings for a Division Chief and three Battalion Chiefs with its new city-run fire department. Applications for these positions are now available on the City’s website at www.victorvilleca.gov, and the first application review is planned for Feb. 28.
On Jan. 16, the Victorville City Council authorized the establishment of a new city fire department. Victorville is transitioning from contract fire services provided by San Bernardino County Fire to a city-run fire department. The transition is expected to be complete in November or December 2018.
Over the course of the next 12 months, the City will recruit 69 fire professionals to join the Victorville City Fire Department at all levels of the organization. Additional job openings including those for firefighter/paramedics, captains, engineers and more will be posted on the City of Victorville website at www.victorvilleca.gov.
