Taylion High Desert Academy Launches Career Café Podcast

By Staff Reports

(Victorville)— Taylion High Desert Academy has launched a new podcast dedicated to helping students learn about the various careers that await them upon graduation with the Career Café.

The first episode can be viewed at https://youtu.be/4paHfAL3ieY.

A video podcast with a new episode every month on YouTube, the Career Café allows the students to interview professionals from various employment sectors in the community. Hosted and created by students, the podcast filmed its first episode in January, with an episode scheduled for every month until the school year ends in June. Employment sectors scheduled so far include photography, art, broadcasting, graphic design, technology and more.

“The Career Café brings a variety of professions right into our school,” said Senior Outreach Coordinator Nolan Smith. “By allowing the students to create the questions and interview the guests firsthand, we are opening the doors to a variety of career pathways.”

Taylion High Desert Academy is a free public charter school, serving grades K-12 with programs in Home School and Independent Study. With locations in Adelanto and Victorville, Taylion Academy aims to bridge the academic achievement gap through a personalized learning model that prepares students to be college and career ready.
