(Victorville)– – Come face to face with one of the world’s most dangerous predators hundreds of miles from their ocean home. The Haai Shark Encounter makes it’s San Bernardino County Fair debut this year and provides an amazing, educational opportunity to learn more about these misunderstood creatures.

“Every year we work to bring new and unique attractions to our loyal Fair goers and the shark encounter exhibit is one of the most exciting things going on this year,” said Geoff Hinds, General Manger of the San Bernardino County Fair.

The show includes educational information on the sharks, a diver that educates as he interacts with the sharks and an opportunity for the audience to get an up close look and ask questions. You may be selected from the audience to assist in the show.

“Sharks have captured our imaginations for thousands of years, stirring the fears and fascination of ocean goers and scientists alike.” According to a statement from Haai Shark Encounter. “Now more than ever, the importance of understanding this fascinating species is critical for its survival. “

The company puts an emphasis on conservation and makes every effort to obtain sharks that are already in captivity for research, injury, or captured by people who do not understand the requirement of caring for sharks.

“We partner with aquariums across the country to not only obtain our sharks but also to provide a beneficial place for them to ‘retire’ at our seasons end,” according to the company. “We hope that through our education and preservation efforts we help to allow the shark species to thrive now and for the future.”

This year’s Fair opens at noon on Saturday, May 19. The Fair is open May 19th to the 21st and May 24th through the 28th.
