100% of Senior Class at Taylion High Desert Academy Have Applied for Community College

By Staff Reports

(Victor Valley)— Taylion High Desert Academy is proud to announce that 100% of their senior class of 2018 has officially applied for college at Victor Valley College.

This was made possible due to a partnership with the K-16 Bridge Program at Victor Valley College. Seniors have worked diligently all school year on preparing themselves for life after high school. By being a part of the K-16 Bridge Program, students qualify for priority registration, as well as receive one-on-one assistance with the school counselor with all of their steps to enrollment for Victor Valley College.

“Navigating the steps to getting into college can be overwhelming and confusing for students,” said Taylion High Desert Academy School Counselor Rebecca Rubio. “In high school, there is someone there to schedule your classes and explain to you what you need to take in order to graduate, raise your GPA or meet the A-G requirements. The K-16 Bridge program allows us as a high school to continue to work with our students and support them as they complete the VVC enrollment steps. From the VVC application, to setting up Webadvisor, to picking out classes, we are with them every step. The best part about it is seeing them discover what options are out there and that there is more to VVC than just taking more general education classes. There are certificate programs, transfer opportunities and so much more that our students may never have thought of exploring without this partnership. For many of our students, working straight out of high school was their first thought. Now, because of this partnership they are exploring other opportunities that include higher education.”

The Class of 2018 will graduate on June 13th, 2018, at High Desert Church in Victorville.
