(Victorville) – With it’s biggest musical lineup in years, new food vendors, exciting exhibits and two national television shows being filmed, this year’s fair boasted the highest numbers in years.
The SBC fair opened on May 19th, kicking off a successful eight-day run. In it’s 71st year, the fair performed better than ever. Numbers were up across the board with the admission up 3%, food up 6% and the carnival up an impressive 12% – all record numbers for the event. The Fair also enjoyed three sold out concerts.
“We spend a large majority of every year ensuring that we have the best entertainment, vendors and exhibits to keep our loyal Fairgoers coming back and bring in more newcomers each year,” said Geoff Hinds, General Manager of the Fair. “We’re couldn’t be happier that we’ve continued to improve the Fair every year and the numbers reflect that.”
With over 400 events annually at the fairgrounds, it’s time to look ahead as the SBC fairgrounds prepare for what’s next: after a successful Best of Preps Event, this weekend kicks of the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series as well as plays host to the El Dorado Broadcasters Baby Shower and Kids Expo. The Following weekend the Choice Medical Group Health & Wellness Expo will kick off and June 21 will feature Chase Rice performing at the US Army’s 243rd Birthday Bash, “Boots and Bling.”
Many more events are slated to hit the Fairgrounds in coming months, including High Desert Opportunity, but SBC Fair staff is already gearing up for the 72nd annual SBC Fair. “The second the last guest leaves the Fair, planning begins for the next year,” Hinds added.
