(Adelanto)— With a venue that can hold over 3,000 guests, the City of Adelanto is inviting residents from throughout the High Desert to attend a three-part concert series, starting August 4 with a “Jazz, Blues & Classic Rock Night” focus.
“We promised that we would make the Stadium an entertainment venue and the concert series is just one in a list activities taking place,” said Aaron Korn, Stadium Manager.
“Jazz, Blues & Classic Rock Night” event will be followed with:
- “Country Night” August 11, including a car show, comedians, art show and kids zone, and
- “Latin Night” September 1
Admission is free to each event, co-sponsored by the City of Adelanto, Adelanto Rotary Club and Adelanto Stadium. Gates open at 3:00 p.m. with each concert starting at 6:00 p.m. The Stadium is located at 12000 Stadium Way in Adelanto.
When we assumed management of the Stadium we asked ourselves why can’t we do more for the residents of Adelanto?” said Darrel Courtney, who along with Aaron Korn, schedules events and activities at the Stadium.
“Concerts are hosted by our neighboring communities and we thought it was high time to bring something similar to the residents of Adelanto,” Courtney added. But during the July 25 City Council meeting he indicated that community support is critical and challenged residents to take advantage of the entertainment being offered.
Although not part of the summer concert series, the Stadium will also host the “Back to the Funky Life Tour” featuring classic acts Brenton Wood, The Delfonics, Lakeside, Klymaxx and Bongo Funk on September 29.
