(Victor Valley)– Supervisor Lovingood is seeking enthusiastic high school students interested government and community service and would like to be a part of the Youth Advisory Council.
Youth Council participants will work on a project that incorporates the County’s Vision4Safety to include a final presentation to the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. Serving with the council allows students an opportunity to become involved in their communities and learn about County Government. The Youth Advisory Council Members will also participate in local volunteer activities and events.
Applications for the Youth Advisory Council are now available for the 2018-19 school year. All high school students in the First District with a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible to apply. The Youth Advisory Council will meet monthly September through April in Victorville, with the final meeting taking place at a Board of Supervisor’s meeting in San Bernardino. Students must provide their own transportation to and from meetings. In order to participate with the Youth Advisory Council, students are required to attend a minimum of five meetings, complete two community service volunteer opportunities, and have the consent of a parent. Applications must be submitted by Sept. 10, 2018. For more information or to apply, contact Susan Drake at (760) 995-8100 or email email@example.com.
