(Adelanto)– For the fourth consecutive year the Adelanto Rodeo rolls into Adelanto this coming weekend…October 13 & 14, this time instead of being held adjacent to Adelanto Stadium—the venue has been moved inside the Stadium. “This will give better lighting, more comfortable seats instead of bleachers and more importantly, will accommodate three times as many spectators,” said Richard Kerr, Adelanto Mayor.
The National Police Rodeo Association (NPRA) sanctioned rodeo will provide a fun, family-oriented event for High Desert residents.
Stadium Manager Aaron Korn states the rodeo will be standard fare:
- Bull Riding
- Bronc Riding
- Breakaway Roping
- Tie Down Roping
- Team Roping
- Barrel Racing
- Chute Doging
Kid Activites include Muttin’ Busting, Calf Scrambles and Boot Scrambles.
“This is a fun, affordable, family-oriented event and High Desert residents don’t have to travel far to enjoy,” said Darrel Courtney, Stadium Co-Manager. Tickets are $12 each for Saturday and Sunday, or a weekend pass sells for $20. Kids 12 and under are free.
“Live entertainment will be available Saturday evening, we’ve planned a fun-filled weekend,” added Korn.
The Adelanto Rodeo is sanctioned by the National Police Rodeo Association which brings together members to compete in various rodeos around California and Nevada, promoting wholesome values in the spirit of friendly competition. A portion of proceeds from this year’s event goes to support NPRA associated charities.
Gates open Saturday at 3:00 p.m. with the rodeo lasting until 6:00 p.m. Sunday’s festivities begin at 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. Camping is available at the stadium for $20 for Saturday only, or $35 for Friday and Saturday.
