Get Your FREE Flu Shot at Your Local Community POD Site

By Staff Reports

(Victor Valley)– The San Bernardino County Department of Public Health Preparedness and Response Program will be testing emergency response plans at local Point of Dispensing (POD) sites during the influenza (flu) vaccination season. A POD site is a location where the community would go to receive lifesaving medication and/or vaccinations during a public health emergency. Public Health will be providing FREE flu vaccinations to the community at select POD sites.

“Flu shots are the first step in protecting against influenza virus and its potentially serious complications,” said Dr. Maxwell Ohikhuare, San Bernardino County Health Officer, “I encourage residents to get their flu shot every year.”

Be prepared for the flu season by receiving your free flu shot. Public Health will be providing free flu shots at the following locations:

These free flu shot clinics provide a test environment for Public Health to exercise plans and procedures for a local pandemic influenza response. The goal of the exercise is to test Public Health’s mass distribution of vaccinations to County residents as a response to an outbreak or pandemic influenza, such as the 2009 H1N1 Pandemic.
