(Victor Valley)– Now that the heat of summer has passed, community clean ups are planned across the region.
The City of Victorville Community Cleanup Day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 20. Since 2007, more than 14,100 volunteers have worked together to collect over 176 tons of litter from Victorville roadsides. For more information, visit www.VictorvilleCa.Gov/CCU.
El Mirage Day is Saturday, Oct. 20. It’s a chance to help pick up trash in the park. The day starts with breakfast from 7 to 8 a.m., with volunteer clean up work starting at 8:30 a.m. Free lunch is provided at noon. Meet at the park, 20471 Mountain View Road, El Mirage. The City of Hesperia’s next Community Cleanup Day is Saturday, Oct. 27. Volunteers work in groups at multiple locations throughout the City from 8 a.m. to noon. Hesperia’s Adopt-A-Street program establishes a partnership between volunteer groups and the City of Hesperia by working together in the effort of litter control in public right-of-way. The City of Needles’ Community Cleanup Day is Saturday, Nov. 3, 8 a.m. to noon. The City will be providing bulky trash collection containers for the free disposal of accumulated trash and bulky items. Please bring bulky items to the Gates Subdivision, Vistas and Cibola. The Helendale Community Clean Up is planned., Saturday, Nov. 3, 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Community Center. General trash, large items, metal, tires without rims, appliances, e-waste, green waste, mattresses and more will be accepted. No hazardous waste. To volunteer, call (760) 951-0006.
