(Victorville)—Taylion High Desert Academy (THDA) is participating in the popular Socktober Sock Drive, as the charter school aims to collect 100 pairs of brand new socks for local non-profit, Moses House Ministries.
“In meeting with staff members from Moses House, I saw how big the need is for necessities like socks,” said Nolan Smith, Senior Outreach Coordinator for THDA. “We were brainstorming ideas on how Taylion can give back, and Socktober came up. We are excited to be able to gather donations for this amazing non-profit!”
Socktober is a national sole warming movement that gives everyone an easy and fun way to help those in need within their very own community. As one of the most overlooked donation items, THDA aims to help men, woman and children with sock donations, gathered throughout October. Brand new socks of all sizes are welcomed.
Located in Victorville, Moses House provides help and offers hope to families with young children living in the High Desert. Their services include parenting courses, case management, transportation assistance, employment development, and more.
Donations are being accepted at both the Victorville and Adelanto locations from October 1st through October 31st. For more information, contact Taylion High Desert Academy at (760) 843-6622. Make sure to visit the charter school online at www.taylion.com.
