(Victorville)— After last year’s successful first season, Taylion High Desert Academy (THDA) has launched into its second season of the Career Café Podcast, with the first episode’s guest being Assemblyman Jay Obernolte.
The Career Café Podcast is a video podcast created by the students at THDA as a means of career development. Each episode, students interview individuals from a variety of sectors in the High Desert workforce. Last school year, students interviewed graphic artists, dance instructors, radio personalities, information technology specialist and more. The seven-episode first season proved to be a success on many levels, from the dedicated group of students to write, film and produce the podcasts, but also for those that watch the podcasts on Taylion’s YouTube channel.
“The students really enjoyed last year’s inaugural season,” said THDA Career Café Director Nolan Smith. “ To be able to learn about not only the professions we have here in the High Desert but to interview the leadership in our community? It was a great opportunity for our students.”
Assemblyman Obernolte visited THDA’s Victorville location to film his episode. He helped students understand his role as Assemblyman but also gave some insight into how his video game company, Far Sight Studios, came to be.
