(Victor Valley)– On Friday, Jan. 18, the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Area, will utilize additional enforcement units, including motorcycles and a fixed wing airplane to enforce traffic safety laws on Interstate 15 and US-395. The increased enforcement will focus on speeding violations, but officers will also watch for distracted driving, unsafe lane changes, following too close, pedestrian safety, and reckless driving.
Speed is the number one cause of traffic collisions in California, and speed combined with aggressive driving contributes to the vast majority of serious collisions. The goal of the traffic safety enforcement detail is to reduce traffic collisions and save lives. The mission of the California Highway Patrol is to provide the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security.
