Volunteers Help Conduct Annual Homeless Count

By Staff Reports

(Victor Valley)– Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who hit the streets before dawn Thursday in San Bernardino County’s annual Point In Time Count of homeless individuals.

This effort will help promote government and private grant funding to help people exit life on the streets and prevent homelessness. In 2018, we celebrated the 1,000th homeless veteran to receive permanent housing in San Bernardino County. And in January, the Board of Supervisors approved funding for an additional Sheriff’s HOPE deputy. In the past five years, the HOPE team has contacted over 6,000 homeless individuals and helped over 1,500 individuals secure housing. We will continue focusing on this difficult problem.
