(Victor Valley)– U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in education rankings, has listed Cal State San Bernardino in its 2019 Best Online Programs Rankings in three categories: best online graduate criminal justice program, best online MBA program, and best online graduate business programs excluding MBA.

“This is exciting news, and a wonderful acknowledgement of the effort Dr. Andrea Schoepfer has put into coordinating our online graduate program,” said Rafik Mohamed, dean of the university’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, where the criminal justice department is housed. “It is also a fitting testament of our criminal justice faculty’s responsiveness to the educational needs of our graduate students and broader community.”

“It is gratifying to be recognized for our efforts to make our quality program accessible to those seeking a non-traditional education experience,” said Lawrence Rose, dean of the university’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration.

The online programs were judged in five categories: engagement, student excellence, expert opinion, faculty credentials and training, and student services and technologies.

Out of 77 schools, CSUSB’s online graduate criminal justice program is listed at No. 30, tying with Cal State Long Beach and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. All courses in CSUSB’s online graduate criminal justice program are taught by nationally recognized full-time faculty who have doctorates in criminal justice and have published extensively. In addition, students with non-criminal justice related undergraduate degrees can be admitted to the program with only three prerequisite courses.

CSUSB’s online MBA degree program is listed at No. 101 out 301 schools, tying with seven other universities across the country. CSUSB’s MBA program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the highest standard for business schools worldwide. The program also offers specialized experiential learning opportunities such as an MBA boot camp, internship and study abroad opportunities, student clubs and organizations, graduate assistantships, career services and financial aid.

CSUSB is also listed in the top 156 schools for the best online graduate business programs, which assess master’s-level business degree programs that are not MBA programs, such as accounting, finance, insurance, marketing and management.

According to its website, U.S. News & World Report is the only publication to evaluate online degrees at the program level rather than the school level. This year’s rankings evaluated a total of 1,545 programs. Only degree-granting programs at regionally accredited institutions that are offered primarily online were considered.
