(Victor Valley)– VVAPL Humane Society started the year with donations to fill the tummies of their animals and keep them warm and cozy thanks to community support.
The Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley has a heart for animals. Since 1990, the members collected money to purchase food for the animals at VVAPL Humane Society. Their yearly food donation increased significantly after partnering with Apple Valley Feed Bin. This year the partnership garnered an amazing donation of 1,000 pounds of dog and cat food to help VVAPL’s animals.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department wanted to find a way to recycle blankets used at the Adelanto Detention Center. Instead of disposing of them, the 1,000 blankets were donated to VVAPL to keep their animals warm during the cold winter months. In addition, the Sheriff’s department will continue the blanket donations throughout the year.
“These donations go beyond feeding and keeping our animals warm,” said board member Terry Saenz. “We’re able to take funds normally used for these items and use them instead in other areas to help us care for our animals. We are so thankful for these generous donations.”
