(Victor Valley)– San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Capt. Gregg Herbert, commander of the Victor Valley Sheriff’s station, was recently promoted to Deputy Chief, overseeing the Desert Patrol Bureau.
Deputy Chief Herbert started with the Department in 1985 as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff at the Yucaipa Station and went on to become a full-time deputy in 1986. Throughout Gregg’s 33-year career, he has held assignments in patrol, corrections, training division and many years with the Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team. He served as the second in command of the Victorville Station in 2010 and was the commander of the Victor Valley Station 2011- 2012 and again 2015- 2019. Gregg has been married for 33 years and has resided in the Victor Valley since 2001. He and his wife have two grown daughters and three beautiful grandchildrenDeputy .
Replacing Capt. Herbert at the Victor Valley Sheriff’s station is Capt. Shelley Krusbe. She began her law enforcement career in 1997 as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff at the Colorado River Station and became a full-time deputy in 1998. After graduating from the Sheriff’s Academy, Shelley worked in the corrections bureau at the West Valley Detention Center and as a patrol deputy at the Apple Valley Station. Past assignments include the Narcotics Division, the Inland Regional Narcotics Enforcement Team, the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, the Victor Valley Station and in the Internal Affairs Division. Shelley was promoted to lieutenant in 2016 and served as second in command at the Hesperia Station for three years. She is now the commander of the Victor Valley Station, which provides law enforcement services to the communities of Adelanto, Helendale, Oro Grande, Silver Lakes, El Mirage, Phelan, Pinon Hills, Wrightwood, West Cajon Valley, Oak Hills, Spring Valley Lake and Lucerne Valley. Shelley holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration / Organizational Leadership from National University.
