(Victorville)– Construction is underway on Victor Valley College’s One-Stop Student Services Center.
The 30,372-square-foot facility includes a 6,214-square-foot canopy area, located in the parking lot in front of the Advanced Technology Building off Jacaranda Avenue. The new building, scheduled to open in Spring 2020, will not only improve the student services experience for both prospective and enrolled students, will also serve as the “new front door” to the campus. The project is utilizing a “multiple prime delivery method” which will essentially break it up into approximately 19 or more divisions of work, eliminating the role of a general contractor and allowing VVC to maximize opportunities for local subcontractors, suppliers and vendors. This building is going to allow VVC to be able to navigate and keep everyone matriculated in an efficient manner, officials said.
The new building will facilitate such services as admissions, assessment, bursar, counseling, financial aid, disabled student services, extended opportunity program and services, and CalWORKS.
