(Victorville) – On May 4th, the City of Victorville will be holding their much anticipated Shred Fest, as well as a Mulch Giveaway and Recycling event at the Victor Valley Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) from 8:00 a.m. to noon. This event is free and is open to residents of the High Desert.
This event includes free document shredding, a chance to pick up some free mulch, as well as an opportunity to get rid of your unwanted appliances and other e-waste, mattress and box spring recycling and more. The event is always well attended, as it provides residents with a boost to their spring cleaning.
If you are among the first 200 visitors, you will receive a free reusable shopping bag as well.
For the Shred Fest, residents can bring up to four banker boxes of paper for on-site destruction. For mulch, it is a self-serve giveaway so make sure to bring your own shovels and containers. The limit of mulch is 50 gallons per resident.
For dropping of mattress and box springs, keep in mind that no sleeper beds, infant mattresses or mattresses from businesses will be permitted.
The Victor Valley MRF is located at 17000 Abbey Ln. in Victorville, just off of Stoddard Wells Road.
This event is made possible by Burrtec Waste Industries and the City of Victorville. For more information, contact City of Victorville Recycling Program at (760) 955-8615 or the Victor Valley MRF at (760) 241-1284.
