(Victorville)—May the Fourth be with you as Linebreakers hosts a free family friendly event dedicated to the popular Free Comic Book Day as well as Star Wars Day, paying tribute to the storied sci-fi franchise on May 4thin Victorville.
“To have Star Wars Day and Free Comic Book Day fall on the same day is a fans dream come true,” said David McKean, Owner of Linebreakers. “We will be celebrating with free comics, games, a costume contest and more!”
The day will kick-off at 10 a.m. with a host of free comic books being made available for all. Part of a worldwide celebration, Free Comic Book Day has special edition comics available for free from a number of different publishers including Marvel Comics, DC Entertainment, Dark Horse Comics, Valiant Entertainment, and more. Quantities are limited and available while supplies last. Free comics are limited to five titles per guest.
The event will also include photo opportunities with well-known cosplayers, like Monotone Kylo, who made a splash at WonderCon this year with her amazing Slave Kylo Ren cosplay. The 501st Legion will have representatives in attendance as well, highlighting their amazing Star Wars cosplay. The 501st Legion is a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization comprised of and operated by Star Wars fans. Linebreakers will also be hosting a Star Wars/Superhero costume contest with cash prizes to be awarded. The costume contest begins at 5:00 p.m. on May 4th.
Local artist Cesar Flores will also be in attendance, as he will be taking commissions as well as showcasing some of his artwork. Flores has done sketch cards for popular card sets such and Rick & Morty and more.
Festivities also include carnival type games with a Star Wars twist, demonstrations of a number of tabletop gaming properties, live broadcasts and giveaways from pop culture news websites and podcasts including Pastrami Nation and Nowhere California, and more.
