Heritage School Monument Honors Victims of Tyranny

(Phelan)– Heritage School in Phelan held a special ceremony May 17 to dedicate a chunk of the Berlin Wall and a monument in honor of those who died seeking to escape communist oppression.

Chapman History Professor Marc Voss, originally from Germany and founder of the Regimes Museum, spoke to students about the oppression of the East German regime. The monument was a project of Heritage School History Teacher Todd Anton, the Tri-Community Kiwanis Club and community sponsors.
