(Victorville)– The community is invited to participate in the City of Victorville’s blood drive hosted with the American Red Cross on Wednesday, June 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Training Rooms 1 and 2 at Victorville City Hall, 14343 Civic Dr.
According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood. Approximately 38 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, but less than 10 percent of them donate each year.
Healthy individuals at least 16 years old may donate blood, but donors under 18 years of age must have a signed parental consent form. All prospective donors must be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not at risk for AIDS or hepatitis.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly encouraged and do receive priority. To make an appointment today, call 1-800-RED-CROSS, or visit the American Red Cross website and enter the sponsor code: Victorville.
On the day of your appointment, streamline your donation experience and save up to 15 minutes by visiting Red Cross Rapidpass to complete your pre-donation reading and health history questions.
