Fort Irwin’s Gen. Broadwater Earns Second Star

(Victor Valley)– The Army announced that the National Training Center’s Commanding General, Jeffery Broadwater, was recently confirmed for his second star by the U.S. Senate.Past assignments have included Scout Platoon Leader where he deployed to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm in 1991.

He was Brigade Executive Officer for 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, and served in Ramadi, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Brigade Operations Officer. Major General Broadwater is a graduate of the Scout Platoon Leader’s Course, Ranger School, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the National War College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky in Mathematics, a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the Naval Post Graduate School, and a Master of Science degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the National Defense University.
