(Victor Valley)– A Greater Hope (also known as the Greater Hope Foundation for Children), the largest provider of safe and loving homes for foster children in San Bernardino County, has partnered with the Capital K.I.D.S Foundation in a massive Back-to-School Bash. The Capital K.I.D.S. Foundation is a local grass roots organization developed to provide events and activities for kids in the high desert.
On Friday, August 2, 2019 these two organizations will unite to host a massive backpack and school supply giveaway. The goal is to distribute backpacks and school supplies to 700 children in need. As A Greater Hope Chief Executive Officer Helena Lopez explains, “Children have boundless potential and providing them with essential school supplies will help prepare them to achieve their academic goals.” Capital K.I.D.S. Foundation Founder Kenny Smith, also known locally as Kenny the Trainer notes, “We are proud to partner to serve youth here in the high desert. Not only is this event going to be a blast, we are going to help may children in need.”
Open to the general public from 6-8pm in the Student Activities Center of Victor Valley College, the Back-to-School Bash will include backpack giveaway and free haircuts for youth aged 5-19, as supplies last. On the outdoor plaza, overlooking the beautiful pond at Victor Valley College the event will feature music, bubble fun for kids and a magician. Gridiron Pizza and Lucky’s Ice Cream will offer delicious treats for purchase. Note, the youth receiving the backpack must be present to receive a backpack, they will be given out on a first come first served basis while supplies last.
A Greater Hope is a nationally accredited 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that provides vital child abuse prevention and intervention services. Since its inception in 2002, A Greater Hope has found healing homes for more than 5,000 children.
