(Apple Valley)– While we do not have any confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus within San Bernardino County, the health and well being of our students, staff, and our community is our highest priority. We have been monitoring our region, county and state updates and at this time have decided to close all schools within the Apple Valley Unified School District beginning on Saturday, March 14th for one week, leading us into our scheduled spring break. This will provide 16 days without surface or social contact. This closure includes all programs, athletics, and extracurricular activities for the two week period. During this time, we will be monitoring changes to any recommendations by the Department of Public Health. This decision was made with careful consideration of the consequences beyond the loss of instructional time, as we know it impacts families, their employers, and our community.
Please keep connected to the AVUSD website, social media, and Aeries Communication for updates regarding our intent to offer supplemental learning and other resources in the days to follow. Thank you for patience as we work together for our community.
