(Apple Valley)– The Recreation Department is accepting online applications for the After School Activities Program (ASAP) lottery.
ASAP is a partnership between the Apple Valley Unified School District and the Town of Apple Valley that has been offered for nearly 25 years. The lottery system was implemented in 2017 in response to the increasing demand for the program that offers engaging programming, homework help, recreation, crafts and snacks until 6:15 p.m. at one of five school locations.
- Academy for Academic Excellence (Grades K-5)
- Rio Vista School of Applied Learning (Grades K-6)
- Sitting Bull Academy (Grades K-8)
- Sycamore Rocks Elementary School (Grades K-5)
- Vanguard Preparatory (Grades K-8)
There is no cost to participate in the “intent to join” process that closes April 6. Participants will be selected on April 13 using Random.org. Parents will receive an email if their child has received a space in the program or if they are on the waitlist. If one child from a family is chosen, siblings in the same household will also be given a spot. As students leave the program, another name will be selected from the waitlist.
