Services Provided at the Veteran’s Home California-Barstow

(Barstow)– The Barstow Veterans Home is Currently Accepting Applications for Residency in the Independent Living (Domiciliary) level of care

The Veterans Home of California-Barstow is currently accepting applications for housing in our Independent living level of care. We are a 220-bed long-term care facility located on 22 acres in Barstow California. The Veterans Home offers three levels of care that include Independent living, Intermediate Nursing Care and Skilled Nursing care. We currently have openings at the independent living and intermediate levels of care.

We have a large home with a variety of amenities that include full room and board, optical, dental and medical care. All rooms are furnished, with clean adjoining restrooms. Basic housekeeping provided. In addition to the basic amenities we have game rooms, movie rooms, a fitness center, barber shop, chapel, library, cable television, wireless internet, areas to garden, pool and ping pong tables, kitchens if they choose to cook their own food, and a variety of other enjoyable activities.

The independent living level of care is for residents able to perform activities of daily living with very limited assistance. Non-nursing staff provide supervision. Independent living residents have access to the Home’s other levels of care and medical services. We welcome non-veteran spouses if they admit at the same time as the veteran.

The Veterans Home is an affordable housing option that provides exceptional amenities for Veterans over the age of 55. We also accept disabled veterans needing long-term care. Veterans must have served on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and provide proof of military service by submitting a copy a DD 214. Independent Care residents pay 47.5 percent of their income. Considering the services provided the Veterans Home is an exceptional value.
