(Victor Valley)– The County Board of Supervisors recently approved enhanced board and care services for mental health patients.
This will provide an array of enhanced services, with 24/7 supervision and care, allows emotional support, stabilization, self-reliance, life skills improvements, and integration into the community. These services have enabled the County Department of Behavioral Health to reduce a consumer’s length of stay in acute psychiatric hospitals, long-term locked psychiatric residential facilities, as well as aiding in the transition to a lower level of care while still having access to specialty services. T
he project is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Community Mental Health Services Block Grant.
