By Staff Reports
(Victor Valley)– With the latest CDC updates, positive cases of the respiratory illness, coronavirus (COVID-19), have been confirmed in California but not in San Bernardino County. Taylion High Desert Academy would like to pass on current information about the coronavirus from the CDC, the California Department of Public Health and local Health Departments.
We are committed to the safety of our students, their families, our staff and the community as a whole. We shared the following guidelines with our parents this week, and will continue to provide up to date information to our parents, students and staff. We have increased the cleaning standard for our sites, ensuring that students and staff have a clean and safe environment at all times.
What Are We Doing?
We want to assure you that we are closely monitoring the situation and are committed to the safety of our students, staff and community.
Please be assured that there is no need for alarm or to change daily routines in any way. Students and school staff should go about their daily lives and practice the same precautions you do during cold and flu season.
What Can You Do?
We encourage all students, staff, and families to follow the recommended guidelines from the California Department of Public Health to protect themselves and those around them from any virus including respiratory viruses like the coronavirus. Please review these with your family:
- Cover mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
- Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough.
We will continue to provide updates as needed via ParentSquare and physical mail to our families.
