Swapping Mamas Clothing Swap/Closet helps community during COVID-19 Pandemic

By Staff Reports

(Adelanto)– Swapping Mamas is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing weather-appropriate clothing for community members in need. Serving the community since 2010, the group has slightly changed its model to assist during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Founder Lisa Anderson said Swapping Mamas recently teamed up with the City of Adelanto and Walmart Distribution Center to distribute hygiene/household items to the needy. Their first collaborative drive-through event on March 20 assisted 240 families with boxes of Lysol wipes, tissues, shampoo/conditioner and bar soap. By May 1, their distribution almost doubled, offering roughly 400 hygiene boxes to families.

The next drive-through event is set for May 22, 2020.

Swapping Mamas is seeking local sponsors to help fund their mission. If you would like to donate please call 760-508-7392, 760-508-5960 or visit their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/swappingmamasclothingswap/
