(Victor Valley)– Victor Valley College (VVC) will serve as a coronavirus testing site for two weeks, beginning today, as part of a partnership between the state of California, the COVID-19 Testing Task Force and OptumServe. VVC is one of 80 community testing sites in the state launched in this program that will boost California’s testing capacity by more than 10,500 tests per day.
Appointments can be made by visiting https://lhi.care/covidtesting or calling (888) 634-1123. Phone registration is only for people without internet access. There will be no on-site registration.
The testing site at VVC will be operational Monday through Friday this week (May 4-8), and Tuesday through Saturday during week two (May 12-16). The college is located at 18422 Bear Valley Road in Victorville, but you must enter via Fish Hatchery Road, currently the only vehicle entrance on campus.
“Thanks to San Bernardino Department of Public Health and to OptumServe for the collaboration to make these testing sites possible,” said Charity Dean, M.D., Assistant Director of the California Department of Public Health. “We’re working together as part of the state’s Testing Task Force to ensure regions with the greatest need have access to tests, and these sites are going to be a major component in reaching our testing goals.”
