(Victorville)– June 5th at 5 p.m., the City of Victorville will begin accepting applications for its new grant program to assist small businesses negatively impacted by COVID-19. Grants of up to $15,000 each will be offered through the Reopening Victorville Small Business Assistance Grant program to help independently owned and operated small businesses continue their services and retain employees.
To be eligible, businesses must be located within one of Victorville’s Community Development Block Grant target areas, have no more than 20 employees including the business owner(s), have been in operation for at least one year, and able to demonstrate income loss due to COVID-19. Preference will be given to businesses located in the Old Town area and minority or female-owned businesses.
“We are thankful to be able to redirect these federal dollars toward helping our city’s small businesses with their recovery efforts,” said Mayor Gloria Garcia. “The success of our small businesses is critical to our local economy.”
On May 19, the Victorville City Council approved the allocation of more than $445,791 for this grant program which is funded through COVID-19 specific, Community Development Block Grant dollars from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The grant application and additional details are available at vv.city/reopen. Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. on June 20.
