(Victor Valley)– Friday morning, Supervisor Lovingood joined members of San Bernardino County Department of Public Works and Vance Corporation for the groundbreaking of the Lone Pine Canyon construction project in Wrightwood.
The $2.6 million project, funded by the SB1 gas tax, will include 400 feet of roadway improvements to include the building of an arch bridge culvert. The new culvert will allow for better storm drainage, reducing the frequency of road closures during storms. The project will also reduce much of the dip in the road crossing the stream. During construction, Lone Pine Canyon is closed between Desert View Lane and Summit Drive. Detour signs are installed. The project should be complete by late fall 2020, just in time for the winter storms. Supervisor Lovingood thanked Public Works staff and Vance Corporation for helping to address our infrastructure needs.
This new project will be of great benefit to the Wrightwood community and significantly reduce the frequency of road closures during big storms.
