Apple Valley extends COVID testing dates

By Staff Reports

(Apple Valley)– The Town of Apple Valley will host COVID testing at James Woody Center, through September 30, in partnership with the County of San Bernardino Department of Public Health.

Testing is free for all individuals. Symptoms and insurance are not required.

To register for an appointment visit or call (888) 634-1123.

The testing site is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mon-Fri.

In addition to the medical importance of testing, residents are encouraged to test because it will help the County of San Bernardino’s ability to open certain sectors of the economy and keep them open by demonstrating to state public health officials that the County’s overall positivity rates and number of cases are not greater than the available healthcare systems ability to care for.

If the County can show large numbers of testing, while keeping the percentage of positive cases low, the County can avoid further restrictions from the state and reopen its economy and society sooner.

The California Department of Public Health is working with OPTUMServe-LHI to expand COVID-19 testing to 80+ sites in California with the goal of reaching vulnerable populations. The Apple Valley site is fully staffed by OPTUM-LHI contractors.

James Woody Community Center is located at 13467 Navajo Road Apple Valley CA 92308.
