(Victor Valley)– Acknowledging his overall leadership qualities, as well as his expertise in the area of water management, six of the elected Board Members of the Mojave Water Agency on Monday endorsed Mike Stevens for Victorville City Council.

“Mike Stevens is a proven leader that is dedicated to the City of Victorville, and will make voters proud,” stated Mike Page, Division 4 Mojave Water Agency Director, which includes a majority of the City of Victorville.

Mojave Water Agency Board of Directors President Thurston “Smitty” Smith, Vice President Jim Ventura, Treasurer Kimberly Cox, Division 3 Director Richard Hall, Division 5 Director Carl Coleman, as well as Page, all endorse Mike Stevens for Victorville City Council. Secretary Jeanette Hayhurst is not endorsing any candidate for City Council.

“I’m honored to have the support of so many respected leaders throughout Victorville and the High Desert,” said Stevens. “I look forward to positioning the City of Victorville to address future droughts and ensure adequate water supplies are available and affordable.”

A 33-year Victorville resident and retired, decorated Air Force veteran, Mike Stevens has a unique background and perspective about past, present and future issues confronting Victorville.  As a former Victorville Planning Commissioner, a member of the city’s Legislative Review Committee, former Field Representative for our County Supervisor, former Community Service Officer with the County Sheriff’s Department, and former city employee, Stevens understands how government works and what it takes to get things done.
