(Victor Valley)– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in partnership
with Sully-Miller Contracting Company began work on the $15 million cold plane and
asphalt concrete pavement rehabilitation project on Interstate 15 (I-15) in the City of
Barstow on Monday, August 24th. The project limits range from 1.2 miles South of
Sidewinder Road Overcrossing (Outlet Center Drive) to Mojave River Bridge.
A moratorium on scheduled lane closures will be in effect throughout Labor Day
Weekend. From Tuesday, September 8th through Thursday, September 10th
between the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., the contractor will close the #1 lane
on I-15 southbound to perform a grind and overlay operation. Additionally, from
Tuesday, September 8th through Friday, September 11th the contractor will continue to
install Desert Tortoise fence during the day.
The project is estimated to be complete in mid-June of 2021.
