(Apple Valley)– Finance Analyst, Margaret Demauro has been selected as the Town of Apple Valley’s Employee of the Quarter for the 3rd quarter of 2020.
“Maggie and the entire Finance department have worked tirelessly these past few months balancing budgets and shaving costs,” said Town Manager Doug Robertson. “She specifically has been working on the Town’s bond refunding measures that will significantly reduce the Town’s future costs.”
As the Town’s Finance Analyst, Margaret oversees the internal controls of the Town’s financial and accounting operations.
“Margaret fosters an environment of learning and nurtures that development and growth for her team,” said Director of Finance Sydnie Harris. “Not only is she a great asset to our department, she is a great asset to the Town.”
“At a glance, our finance year is split between a six-month audit season and six months preparing the budget,” said Demauro. “We are currently preparing the Town for audit, making adjustments, planning and communicating early with our vendors.”
Demauro is an accounting graduate from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and has previously worked in governmental accounting for the County of Boulder, Colorado, and the City of San Bernardino. She lives in Apple Valley with her husband Bill and son Stephen. She has four grandchildren who she enjoys visiting on vacation in Hawaii and Colorado.
“I enjoy getting the information down to the point that is easily understandable for our community and stakeholders. Seeing others understand the information and making them feel comfortable is my favorite part.”
Margaret was recognized as the Employee of the Quarter at the Sept. 8 Town Council meeting.
Nominations for Employee of the Quarter are submitted by peers or management and honorees are selected by the Town Manager.
