(Victor Valley)– Did you know San Bernardino County owns and operates its own zoo?! It does and the Big Bear Alpine Zoo has moved into a brand new location and is now open!
The Big Bear Alpine Zoo is owned by the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District and managed by San Bernardino County Special Districts. The zoo is a rehabilitation facility offering injured and orphaned wild animal sanctuary, a safe haven; temporarily while they heal, or permanently if they are unable to survive on their own. This is an excellent opportunity for visitors of the San Bernardino National Forest to see animals they would not normally see in the wild.
The Big Bear Alpine Zoo is located at 747 Clubview Drive in Big Bear Lake and is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., every day of the year except Christmas Day. On snowy days, the zoo may open later or not at all for snow removal. For more information about the zoo visit www.bigbearzoo.org.
