Weekend storm set to roll in

By Staff Reports

(Victor Valley)– A significant weekend storm is expected to bring cold temperatures and high winds to Inland areas, with a chance of rain or snow in local mountains. Gusty west to southwest winds will whip across areas from Southern California to western Utah on Friday. Gusts in this swath will frequent 50-70 mph.

Motorists are advised to bring chains to mountain regions as chain control will be in effect in higher elevations. State highways that have been affected by recent wildfires may be subject to closure or delays due to rock fall or debris flows, according to Caltrans. Chain installers will be available on mountain routes for your safety and convenience. DO NOT install your chains in travel lanes. Use designated turnouts for chain installation.
