(Victor Valley)– The Victor Valley Community Warming Shelter is now open thanks to an agreement that was approved by our City Council on Nov. 17.
This year, the shelter is located at Westwinds Sports Center, 18241 George Blvd. in Victorville. As a precautionary measure, the shelter will operate 24 hours each day with COVID-19 screening procedures and safety protocols in place. The shelter will accept individuals Tuesdays and Fridays. On these admission days, free van pickup is available at High Desert Homeless Services and Victor Valley Rescue Mission from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Providing shelter for our homeless population is critical during this pandemic and as we move into colder temperatures. We are thankful for these organizations that provide homeless support services for our most vulnerable individuals including Symba Center that is assisting with medical screenings and wellness checks at the Warming Shelter.
