(Victor Valley)– The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force has released its most recent statistics, highlighting the important work this team has done to battle a growing and persistent problem in our community.
Since its inception in 2017, the agency has rescued 263 people (including 94 minors) from human trafficking. Out of 142 operations, the team made 495 arrests, filed 370 misdemeanor cases, 98 felony cases, and shut down four active brothels. Thanks to their efforts, over 55 felony convictions were secured, resulting in 450 years of state prison sentences combined.
San Bernardino County’s Human Trafficking Task Force is comprised of investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Redlands Police Department, Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Our San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office assists human trafficking victims through its Bureau of Victim Services. Advocates assist victims in completing the Victim Compensation Board Application, which helps with relocation costs, home security modifications, mental health services, medical bills and job retraining.
