(Victorville)– On March 23, the Victorville City Council will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. via Zoom. On the agenda will be discussion and possible action regarding the vacant City Council seat. Additionally, the Council’s new procedure allowing for all public comment at the beginning of Council meetings will be in effect.
The new public comment procedure, which makes it easier and more convenient for all members of the public to address the Council, was approved on March 16.
Rather than having to wait hours to comment on a specific agenda item or to address the Council at the end of the meeting, community members are now invited to speak at the beginning of each meeting on any agendized and/or non-agendized topics. Public comments will be no longer than three minutes per community member.
This action was taken to prioritize public comments. Another benefit of the new format is that questions from community members can be answered during staff reports later in the meeting.
Victorville residents are invited to join the special meeting of the Victorville City Council on March 23 at 5 p.m. Individuals wishing to provide public comment may join the meeting and comment via Zoom. Those who don’t want to provide comment may view the meeting on YouTube. The Zoom and YouTube details are available on the City website at VictorvilleCA.gov/agendas.
Regular meetings of the Victorville City Council are held the first and third Tuesday of each month. Agendas for regular meetings are posted no later than 72 hours prior to the meeting. Special meetings are noticed 24 hours in advance. Members of the public are invited to review the meeting schedule and agendas for the Victorville City Council and the Victorville Planning Commission at VictorvilleCA.gov/agendas. Questions can be directed to (760) 955-5188.
