(Apple Valley)– Senior Code Enforcement Officer, Larry Williams has been selected as the Town of Apple Valley’s Employee of the Quarter for the 2nd quarter of 2021.
“In addition to his regular duties, Larry recently went above and beyond the expectations of his position when he helped a fellow coworker in a serious situation,” said Code Enforcement Manager Guy Eisenbrey. “He received a call from his coworker who was experiencing chest pains and immediately took action to assess the situation. Larry did not hesitate to call emergency services and it was his quick thinking and swift action that played a contributing factor in getting his coworker the necessary medical care needed to save his life.”
Larry began his 19 year career with the Town in 2002 as a Code Enforcement Trainee. He was later promoted to Officer I and Officer II positions.
Today, as the Senior Code Enforcement Officer, Larry is tasked with locating and removing illegal dumps, trash and debris, vehicle maintenance and working with the Sheriff’s department’s Problem Oriented Policing Program.
“Larry and the entire Code Enforcement team are instrumental in maintaining our Town’s positive image, health and safety,” said Mayor Curt Emick. “Larry has done a tremendous job maintaining a relationship with our Sheriff’s department as well as ensuring Town events such as Tire Drop Off Days and Neighborhood Cleanups run smoothly. His most recent act of service ended up saving the life of a fellow coworker. We are grateful and fortunate to have Larry serve this community and be a part of our team.”
“I love that this job doesn’t fall into a routine, there is always something different each day,” said Williams. “Even in our position as officers, there are many people who are grateful for our help. By working together, we are able to maintain this Town’s natural beauty and give residents the pride of living in this amazing community.”
Larry was recognized as the Employee of the Quarter at the May 25 Town Council meeting.
Nominations for Employee of the Quarter are submitted by peers or management and honorees are selected by the Town Manager.
