Apple Valley Aquatic Center pool receives upgraded heating system, closes temporarily

By Staff Reports

(Apple Valley)– The Town of Apple Valley’s Aquatic Center pool will receive an upgraded heating system that will provide greater efficiency, warmer temperatures and allow more programs and classes during the cold winter months. The pool will be temporarily closed from Oct. 25 through Nov. 8 for the installation.

“The new unit will use less electricity while at the same time allow us to warm the water to a comfortable 80 degrees,” said Parks and Recreation Manager David Coleman. “This was something that was just not possible with the older outdated system. The upgrade will allow the Town to keep the Aquatic Center open during the winter and continue to offer classes to the public.”

The $140,000 project is being funded by the Town’s General Fund.

The Aquatic Center currently offers daily public lap swimming, an Aqua Zumba class, and is the host facility for the Granite Hills High School Water Polo Team and the Apple Valley Swim Club.
