(Victorville)–Taylion High Desert Academy is excited to welcome our new Principal, Ms. Brenda Congo, who previously worked for the school as a Director of Special Education.
“I am excited to join this team and to work with this amazing community,” said Congo. “We are in the business of connecting with people and doing what’s best for students. I am committed to leading, supporting, and promoting growth in our students.”
Congo, who has vast experience in education, takes over the Principal role previously held by Mr. Aaron Ritter, who has moved into another position within the company. Ritter served as the Principal for the last 2 years, and was a leader in the community. We would like to express our sincere thanks and best wishes for Mr. Ritter in his future endeavors.
Looking to continue our commitment to our students and community, Congo has worked in education since 2003, serving at several schools in Southern California including Silverado High School, Lomitas Elementary School, and Encore High School for the Arts.
Congo grew up in Apple Valley and graduated from Apple Valley High School.
She loves spending time with friends and family, taking short trips, and growing within the educational field.
“Taylion is focused on providing all students with individualized academic interventions and supports to bridge learning gaps and assist students to move ahead in a safe, caring and supportive environment, ” Congo said. “We are determined to give students hope for a brighter future while providing genuine social-emotional engagement opportunities, and guidance in taking preparatory steps towards their personal college and career goals. Taylion cares about students, families and the High Desert community. Taylion will continue to work with educational partners in order to provide the support and resources needed for students’ success,“ said Principal Congo.
Taylion continues to follow and stay updated on all CDC guidelines and recommendations. Taylion High Desert Academy continues, undeterred, to provide support, in the form of various resources and counseling, to our student body. This while also providing individualized academic solutions for students, families, teachers, and staff.
From continuous deep cleaning of all sites, to the reorganization of assigned coursework, Taylion has also taken other steps in supporting their students.
